On June 14th 2006 I, Dr. Debra, received a phone call that she will never forget. It was one of those moments in her life where she remembers exactly where she was standing, what the weather was like, what time of day it was – even small details. She answered her phone and Jill said without saying hello - “My Baby Died today”. It was like a 2 by 4 had hit Dr. Debra in the chest, her knees sagged as she tried to make sense of these four words. Even as she searched for the right words to say, she remembers thinking, “my goodness if this is how I am feeling – what can Jill possibly be going through?” On June 14th 2006, about 6 hours after Jill went into labour, her daughter Kassidy Quinn was still born. Jill hadn’t any idea of how to make sense of her baby’s death; she hadn’t any idea of what had actually happened; she only knew that this was a life changing event and that she could either let destroy her or not. And so began Jill and Dr. Debra’s journey of making sense of Kassidy’s death. And so began Jill’s journey to Joy. This started their journey towards understanding that Kassidy had a plan, that this was what she wanted, that she and Jill had agreed to participate in this together. Kassidy gave them understandings that make sense of life; Kassidy gave them understandings that make sense of death; Kassidy taught them that everything is exactly as it should be; Kassidy showed Jill what was important in her life. Their book, My Baby Died – Grief without the Suffering, tells of what Jill and her family went through on that day and the days that followed. This book brings new understanding to who we are and what we are doing here, on Earth. This book allows you to grieve for those you love who have gone, but not suffer. This book is for YOU. “All of us are going to die! That is a certain truth about being human. All of us are going to die and yet we fear it so much. Kassidy has shown us what happens, Kassidy has explained to us that we have nothing to fear, Kassidy has told us that this is her purpose – this is what her life was all about - bringing this truth and understanding about life and death and everything in between.” “We have entered our manuscript in the Next Top Spiritual Author competition and we need your vote to get us to the next round. Will you help us bring Kassidy’s message to others? Will you help us bring her message about life and death, about the other side, about how to grieve for those we love without letting their passing be the end of our own lives to the world? “ “Please go to http://www.NextTopAuthor.com/?aid=1946 to vote for our book My Baby Died – Grief without the Suffering. We have dedicated our lives to speaking Kassidy’s truth.” Jill and Dr. Debra To download free sample chapters from My Baby Died – Grief without the Suffering, click here.

“My Baby Died” is a treasure. This juxtaposition of deep loss and radiant joy is exactly the understanding that the world so sorely needs right now. Thank you for this courageous, radiant book.” Christiane Northrup, MD, author of The Secret Pleasures of Menopause (Hay House, 2008), The Wisdom of Menopause (Bantam, revised 2006), Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom (Bantam, revised 2006), and Mother-Daughter Wisdom (Bantam, 2005). “Across North America millions of parents have faced the most unthinkable of nightmares — something that affects us all — the loss of a child. Inherently we know it’s not supposed to happen that way. Children are not supposed to die before their parents. But, unfortunately, it does happen — every single day. Facing this unimaginable horror, in their new book, My Baby Died, Jill Ethier and Debra Ford share with us a remarkable story of love and courage. Inspiring and heart warming, “My Baby Died” leads us all to a new understanding of a timeless eternal struggle.” Paul Elder is the author of the acclaimed Hampton Roads book, Eyes of an Angel.
